OFFICE OF THE REGIONAL DIRECTORATE OF HEALTH SERVICES KALMUNAI
Regional Directorate of Health Services Kalmunai is one of the four such institutions under the Eastern Provincial Directorate of Health Services. It is located in the heart of Kalmunai town adjacent to the Kalmunai Municipality Building. The regional provides curative and preventive healthcare service delivery to the region. Curative Care Services
Responsibilities of the Curative Care sector of the Office of the Regional Director of Health Services Kalmunai are planning, implementing, monitoring, maintaining medical statistics and database, regulating private healthcare sector, providing technical support, conducting medical surveys and researches, coordinating with technical units of the MOH and other departments, providing of technical support to facilitate planning , monitoring and evaluation.
Government Health Sector
Network of the Government sector curative care institutions ranges from tertiary care institutions like teaching hospitals.
Private Health Sector
A parallel health care is provided by several private hospitals based in Kalmunai region.
Preventive Health Services
Responsibilities of the preventive health sector are planning, implementing and monitoring, providing technical support, carrying out surveys and essential researches, coordinating with technical units of the MOH and other departments, providing technical assistance to facilitate planning, monitoring and evaluation, of preventive healthcare programmes at regional level under the guidance of the ministry and Eastern PDHS.
