Base Hospitals under the Kalmunai Regional Directorate of Health Services

Kalmunai Regional Directorate of Health Services has following four base hospitals under its governance:

1. BH Nintavur – This is a type B base hospital with basic facilities and located at the hospital road, Nintavur.

2. BH Pottuvil – This is a type A base hospital with all basic facilities and located in the heart of Pottuvil town.

3. BH Sammanthurai – This is a type A base hospital that has several specialised units in addition to all basic amenities, and located at Ampara road, Sammanthurai. This BH serves to the largest catchment area in Kalmunai RDHS region.

4. BH Thirukkovil – This is a type B base hospital and located on the A4 main road to Pottuvil. This is the youngest of all base hositals in the region.
